Trauma Informed Assessment / Crisis Counseling

Welcome to Path to Resilience LLC, and thank you for visiting my site!

My private practice provides counseling/therapy services for individuals, couples, families, young adults, adolescents, and teenagers. I specialize in Trauma Informed Assessment and Crisis Counseling and provide a safe, open, and non-judgmental environment. I offer over 25-years of experience working with diverse populations in a variety of circumstances. When life happens, I will help you and your loved ones rekindle HOPE.

I am a fully Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LMSW) with a Masters of Social Work (MSW) from Eastern Michigan University.

For 20 years, I worked with families and children experiencing poverty, homelessness, and domestic violence. I have also had extensive experience working in residential juvenile detention programs; providing therapy to adolescent males with the end goal to family stabilization and a successful return of youth to their homes.

I provide psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, and teens using the Person Centered Planning (PCP) approach; a problem-solving process that focuses on your vision of what you would like your future to look like.

Treatment Methods:

My goal is to provide you proven treatment methods that focus on you and your goals. These methods may include, but are not limited to:

* Narrative Therapy – you direct the conversation and where to go with your therapy.
* Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – a solution based often time limited talk therapy approach.
* Emotionally Focused Therapyan approach fostering positive healing and interactions for couples.

Each treatment method incorporates Person Centered Planning, and I am happy to make necessary adjustments in treatment when needed and agreed upon.

Adolescent / Teen Therapy

I am specifically trained in working with issues teens face today, including abuse and neglect, suicide, depression, anxiety, bullying, cyber bullying, self-worth and self-esteem, violence in the schools, violence at home, trauma and its long-term effects, substance use, over achievement expectations, and much more.

I utilize specific research-based Trauma Informed techniques from the Institute for Trauma and Loss in Children, as well as Narrative Therapy when working with adolescents and teens. An art therapy space is on-site, designated for adolescent and teen use.

Family Therapy

Family therapy can create unique opportunities for the members to learn to problem solve and grow closer.

My role is to facilitate a safe environment where each member can express their needs and concerns without fear of retaliation or judgment. Together as a team, the family determines goals and can practice healthy forms of expression and positive interactions.

Narrative Therapy, CBT, and Trauma Informed Therapy are utilized with families.

Individual Therapy

Working together, we identify your strengths and use these strengths to get you to your desired goals. This is accomplished by creating strategies that you are comfortable using to get you back in control.

Treatment methods include Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or a combination. The goal is to find the method that works best for you.

Couples Therapy

Working as a team, we identify your strengths as a couple, your needs from your partner, and your vision of how you would like to see your relationship evolve.

Treatment method is centered on Emotionally Focused Therapy. Narrative Therapy may be intertwined, depending on your specific needs and goals.
